About

Hi, I'm Hannah!

I started creating these earrings as a lockdown project to keep me occupied during Covid-19.

I was inspired by a pair of earrings I bought in South Africa. I loved them so much I bought a two pairs before my ears were even pierced!

Shona is one of many African tribal languages. When trying to come up with a name, I stumbled across the word 'Mhete', meaning jewellery/earrings in Shona; it seemed fitting since this language is spoken where I bought my inspiration!

I have always been in awe of the beauty of traditional tribal jewellery. Each range created is inspired by traditional materials and designs.

Every piece is made from scratch, which combined with your customised orders makes every one unique!

I hope you love them.

Orange and yellow woven teardrop-shaped earrings with metal hooks, placed on an orange card labeled 'MHETE' on a dark surface.
